Suppletion is a concept in morphology, in which a member/term/morpheme when changes form have no phonological semblance with the original morpheme. The allomorph generated in the conversion of the morpheme go when it is converted into its by tense went have no phonological similarity with the sign tense. This in phonological similarity is called suppletion.
Suppletion in English verbiage is quite vast; stem suppletion and affix suppletion are cardinal of its kinds. Lets look at some examples. To comment on the fact that why do suppletion occur in a particular language is a very difficult task. A general belief that this is imputable to the adaptation of words from different languages, but the researchers proved that it is a rare phenomenon. If anything, ?nding suppletion in the lexicon is the expected situation in languages with in?ectional morphology.(Chumakina and Hippisley, 2002)
