The Scarlet Letter is a historied novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is about a charrs tragic life in the Puritan lodge in which she lives. Hester Prynne has gone through so many challenges and obstacles receivable to the offend that she has committed which is adultery. The pit has caused her to wear the scarlet garner A which stands for Adulterer. It is the symbol of her shame and she wears it for the rest of her life. Nathaniel Hawthorne, the author, was born in 1804 at Salem in Massachusetts to one of cutting Englands oldest Puritan families. The sins of his fathers tortured his conscience and he suffers salient guilt on their behalf. Due to this reason, he criticized Puritanism in approximately of his work. He entered Bowdoin College in Maine in 1821 and began writing Fanshawe. Hawthorne began writing historic sketches and allegorical tales after his graduation in 1825. Unable to earn his supporting by writing alone, he accepted the position of measurer in the Boston Custom House in January 1839. Later, Hawthorne was appointed as Surveyor for the District of Salem.
